Peruvian Highlands

Towne and Forrester works with small-scale coffee producers in the Peruvian highlands outside of Santa Teresa to improve both quality of coffee and quality of life in the area. We have helped farmers to build relationships with importers interested in a direct model of trade, meaning that both the producer and buyer have agency at the negotiation table.
This past year we provided Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) certified green bean grading for farmers that were financially unable to have their crops graded at market. Our ongoing project provides technical and financial assistance to farmers in finding sustainable solutions to combatting pests, mitigating funguses, and fertilizing crops.
